photo of person with prothetic arm riding a motorbikeThe Rehabilitation Teaching and Research Unit (RTRU) is a specialised academic unit that is part of the Department of Medicine at the University of Otago, Wellington. We believe that good rehabilitation is inter-disciplinary rehabilitation and our staff composition reflects this. We offer programmes at Certificate, Diploma, Masters and PhD level.

 

The staff of the RTRU include rehabilitation physician/rheumatologists, geriatrician, occupational health physician, physiotherapists, occupational therapist, clinical psychologists, and a programme administrator.

Our two primary roles are teaching and research - i.e. teaching rehabilitation and researching rehabilitation.
